Loren, Office Manager, Treatment Coordinator, RDA
I’ve been in dentistry for fourteen years and at Distinctive Dental Services for 10. What I love most about Distinctive Dental Services is the combination of high-tech dentistry with a strong focus on client care. In fact, that’s what first attracted me to Distinctive Dental Services.Dentistry today is exciting, and the field of dentistry is constantly changing. It keeps me on my toes. The technology is incredible, and Dr. Scott Elrod and our entire team are committed to remaining cutting edge, in both the areas of high-tech dentistry and client experience.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends when I’m not at work. My husband and I have two kids that keep us busy with baseball and cheerleading! We love to vacation and camp whenever possible.
Beth, Treatment Coordinator, RDA
Beth was raised in Fremont, Nebraska and moved to Texas in 1992. Since her first dental position as a surgical scrub technician in 1993 she has jumped in and never looked back – giving Beth over 25 years in dental experience! This makes her the perfect person to ask if you have any dental questions. She loves to share her knowledge with patients of all ages.
She enjoys spending time with her family and especially her grandson. Whenever possible, she sneaks away to the San Bernard River to go boating, fishing and lay out in the sun.
Norma, Registered Dental Hygienist
I have been with Distinctive Dental Services for 19 of the 32 years I have been in dentistry. I have a great boss. He cares about his clients and his employees. He takes very good care of us. My coworkers are the best. We work hard, but we have fun and enjoy each other. The clients here are awesome. I enjoy and treasure getting to see them and work with them every few months. I am very blessed to be a part of the Distinctive Dental Services team. Having a personal relationship with each of my clients is very important to me. I feel it helps people become more comfortable, especially in a situation where they may typically feel very anxious. It’s important for me to feel that my clients trust me and for them to know that I care about them on every level. I don’t just care about their dental needs, but I care about them as a whole.
I have been married to my best friend for 32 years. I have two young adult children who I am so very proud of and have enjoyed watching them grow into respectful, caring, hard working young adults. I love them both dearly and couldn’t imagine my life without them. God and all of my many life experiences have made me who I am today. My main goal in life is to always show compassion towards people because you never know their situation. And I always try to be relatable with people because God put us all on this earth for a reason, so why not enjoy our stay.
Melissa, Registered Dental Hygienist
Melissa was born in Galveston but grew up in Sweeny, TX. She spent years in braces growing up which gave her a lot of time to spend with dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants. This led to a newly found passion for the dental field. If there is one thing that makes Melissa genuinely happy, it is seeing her patient’s confidence improve, along with their smile, over each and every visit to the office.
When not helping those patients with their smiles, you can find Melissa with her husband and three children. They often visit the zoo, waterparks, and museums around town.
Melissa has been with the Distinctive Dental Services team for over 7 years. As the lead dental assistant, Melissa assists the doctor with a number of procedures.
She finds that the most rewarding part of her job is having the ability to make a positive impact in the lives of patients by contributing to their overall health through their oral health. She is personally committed to never stop seeking the greater good and well-being of her patients. She believes that all patients deserve the highest standard of care.
During her time away from the practice, she loves to spend time with her 3 wonderful children.
Mickey, Dental Assistant
Mickey began at Distinctive Dental Services in 2020 but has enjoyed working in the dental field for over 6 years. After growing up near Topeka Kansas, she obtained a BS in Microbiology and became a registered Dental Assistant. On top of that, she has even had Cerec training. Day to day, she loves learning new dental facts and helping her patients overcome any dental fears they may have.
In her spare time, she enjoys going fishing, to the beach, and doing just about anything outside with her husband.
Erika, Dental Assistant
Erika began at her dental career many years ago but has just begun her new journey here at Distinctive Dental Services in 2020. She is a transplant from South Carolina who is certified in CPR and is also a Certified Dental Assistant. At any given time you’ll find Erika sterilizing the equipment for your safety, maintaining dental rooms, and making sure that your appointment stays on track.
“The most rewarding thing is seeing patients walk out our doors with a smile on their face.” – Erika
Like many of her friends and family, she loves to go fishing and spending time on the beach.
